You might be interested in a visit to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum located at 4572 Claire Chennault Dr, Addison, TX 75001. This museum houses an impressive collection of aircraft from many periods of time. There are even some warbirds on display that are jet-powered. Some of the aircraft on display here include the Soviet MiG-15 and the Lockheed T-33A, both of which were popular trainers during the war. There is also a Polish-built MiG-17 that served in the Chinese Air Force during the Korean War. These aircraft are both well preserved, and a great way to see how aircraft were used in battle. Other highlights include a Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star training aircraft, and a Northrop F-5 Tiger II in fake Soviet camouflage.

Another aircraft on display at the museum is the renowned DC-3, which was used extensively by American Airlines and TransTexas Airways. Though this aircraft was eventually absorbed by Continental Airlines, it is still a flying machine today. In addition to these modern aircraft, the museum also has two WWII-era airplanes: the SBD and TBM. Both aircraft were built before the end of World War II and still fly after restoration work.

In the second hangar, you’ll find jet and prop-driven aircraft from all periods of American aviation history. There’s an authentic WWII B-25 Mitchell, as well as a Douglas SBD Dauntless and a Fairchild trainer. The Mitchell is one of the only aircraft painted in the ‘Doolittle Raider’ colors. It flew in a failed attempt to invade Cuba.

There are also several vintage fighter aircraft on display. The Vought A-7 Corsair II is an attack aircraft, while the North American T-2C Buckeye is a trainer. The Douglas A-3 Skywarrior, which was also used by the Navy in combat, is represented by a tanker version in blue color. The USS Lexington used the Douglas A-3 Skywarrior as a carrier.
